Lots of things going on here, Tattoo style lettering, a Tribal and a Lucky charm on top.

Christmas time

Nobody realized that this was a custom paint job, they thought it was a special Christmas bottle of 2 buck Chuck. Squares!

Top Hat

Here's a picture of Top Hat laying lines at the World of Wheels in 1989. I think this is the first time I saw someone pinstriping.

Artie's Party

I had a great time and learned a couple of new tricks this weekend. I think that the final amount raise for the charity was around $50,000. Once again everyone was welcoming to the new guy.
Here are the things that I painted in addition to the Tiki carving.

The Rat Fink brought some good money.

The Tiki head was painted with a rust metal technique.

Different Style panel.

Tiki pin #2

Here's the Second tiki pin that I carved. It is headed for an auction at the Syracuse National car show. I hope someone bids on it and it brings some decent money for the charity.

Madoni trucking

A painting of John's old rig.

Monogram

Chicks in New York pay top dollar for this stuff. I took an old leather bag and added a monogram to it.

Be patient grasshopper

I picked up a copy of Tramp's book on Half.com this week for 75 cents. The book is out of print and probably will never be reprinted. Usually it sells for over $100 if you can find one. So I considered this a score.

Some first lines

I have been spending some time at my parents house this week. While I was in the basement I ran across some of my first lines. These must have been painted sometime in the early 80's. That was when 1 Shot had lead in it, I found the paint also. I couldn't find the brush but think that it's in my big roll away tool box maybe I will find it too.

If you need a couple of side windows for a 70 Toreno today is your day.

Big Time

I'm not sure when you become a pinstriper. It could be sometime between when you buy your first brush and dip it in a can of paint. I guess I'm a pinstriper now, at least the newspaper thinks so.

Two Helmets

A couple of helmets that I finished up last night.

A new helmet with vermillion and orange stripes.

Vintage style, heavy red metal flake. Reflex blue stripes.

tupello

I was in Tupello MS last week and found something that I have been looking for, an aluminum ice tray. I wanted the tray to soak brushes in. I found one at the Tupello Hardware Co. and stood in the same spot th atGladys stood when she bought her son his first guitar. Here is a picture of me and Howard. If you stop by make sure that you let them know that you are one of Howard's people. Howard is the "resident historian" and about 35,000 people stop in each year to chat with him.

The box has paint. and art work.

The kit is starting to take shape. Fully loaded it weighs in at 20 pounds.
I painted it last night and started the lettering today. Tomorrow it's off to Rockler for latches and corner edges.

I added some art on the ends over the weekend. It's a tribute to Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and Kenneth "Von Dutch" Howard. Yes, Von Dutch was a real live breathing person.

Skulls

A little gift from the Roswell PD arrived today. Plus I spent most of the day on the phone and writing letters. That put me in the mood to paint a skull in the style of OG Abel.

Wood bowling pins

If you want to try something fun try this. Stripping the cover off a bowling pin, you must finish with all 10 of your fingers.

Another panel

I've been gone for 2 weeks and have a ton of things that I should be doing. But sometime you need to do something. Last night that thing was painting, so here's a quickie with some pretty tight turns.

Old project

Here is the first "painting" that I am working on.
when it is finished I'm planning to swap it for a cow that my brother is painting.
