I painted a sign for uncle Paul with some gold leaf, wet on wet airbrushing, faux wood and chrome.
This is modeled after a sign that Papa painted.

I'm planning to go to Milwaukee for the Legends in February, cold and crazy but....I'm working on the artwork and my skills.

After seeing some of the worked heading to Milwaukee I needed to set up if I was going to hang with the 'Legends'

No skulls or flames just a design on a old style tank.

1 shot enamel airbrushed wet on wet.  I still need to clean this up when it's dry. There's a weird flash in the eye sockets.

DeWayne Connot developed the technique. I watched him at Artie's last year. I had several failed attempts since then but kept plugging away at it. This took about 4 hours on and off most of the time is waiting for paint to dry.

Colors

Many artist know about the color wheel but don't really know how to use it. I have been trying to get a grasp so that my art work is more harmonious. ie the design might not be the best but the color selection is right.

Here is a panel that I painted. The background is green and I want a picture. the car, and a striping design. That's three things so I need three colors.

Set green as the key color and find the Triadic. Green, Orange and Purple are the colors I will use.

From there I added white to tint the color, make it lighter. Or added grey to tone the color, make it darker.
